USB-Stick Miner GekkoScience Compac A1 300-500 GH/s

GekkoScience has completely redesigned the top model of its USB stick miners for Bitcoin and other SHA256d-based crypto coins. The new Compac A1 offers a performance of 300-500 GH/s and is equipped with two AntMiner BM1362 ASICs, which are also used in the Bitmain Antminer S19j Pro series.

For the first time, a USB stick miner offers software-controlled adjustment of clock rate and core voltage during operation via console parameters or the Java API.

And we have also integrated software-based monitoring of the ASIC (PCB) temperature, so that the miner can also be operated in a temperature-controlled manner. A safety shutdown in case of temperature exceeding a critical level is also integrated in the driver.

The USB stick is equipped for the first time with a two-pin 5 V fan adapter, so that common 4 cm component fans can be supplied with power directly from the miner. A fan adapter with a high-quality Sunon fan is available as bundle.

Kano has again developed an adapted version of the well-known standard mining software CGMiner, which fully supports the newly added functions.

The average efficiency is 30 W/TH. The power consumption depends on the clock frequency used and the core voltage set and therefore varies from 5 W to approx. 20 W. The use of a suitable, powerful active USB hub or our Smart Hub (up to 4 Amps at 5 Volts) is strongly recommended to avoid possible damage to standard PC USB ports.

Required for operation:

  • Host PC with Windows x86 (32-bit or 64-bit) operating system, Linux (x86 or ARM) or Mac OS X.
  • Please note: An active USB port with a powerful power supply (5 V, 2-4 A, e.g. GekkoScience 7-Port or GekkoScience Smart Hub) is recommended for operation. Due to the power consumption, not all ports may be usable.
  • Caution: Due to the design with a large-volume heat sink, the GekkoScience Compac has a height of 18 mm. This means that – depending on the active USB hub used – not all ports can be used.
