SuperSink Overclocker Edition upgrade kit: Our new high-performance heatsink with copper fins and dual-fan air duct
The SuperSink is our new top-of-the-line model for ASIC cooling. We bet that it offers the ultimate in heat dissipation for ASIC mining chips currently available. Combined with a rear-mounted heatsink and a fan for the voltage regulator, our top models achieve 1.9 TH/s with a Bitaxe Gamma 601 board.
The conversion kit comes with all the components needed to modify the ASIC heatsink. It includes two whisper-quiet GELID fans, pre-mounted on the solid copper finned heatsink, all necessary screws for the conversion, and four special 0.3 mm PE spacers to ensure the correct distance to the ASIC. This prevents the circuit board from flexing and ensures the heatsink sits flush against the ASIC surface. A four-pin fan splitter is also included.
The heat sink’s specifications are impressive:
- 36,8 cm³ volume
- 1636 cm² surface area
- This results in a volume-to-surface-area ratio of 1:24
- The static pressure of the two mounted fans is 11 mm H2O combined.
- Airflow rate of the fans mounted on the air duct in a push-pull configuration: 5.76 CFM
We can easily achieve the maximum possible overclocking options for a Bitaxe Gamma without even coming close to a critical ASIC temperature. (The limiting factor is the load and operating temperature of the voltage regulator mounted on the back, which also requires active cooling with a heatsink and fan to achieve values of 1.9 TH/s and above.)
The conversion is very simple:
- Remove the standard fan and heatsink
- Clean the ceramic surface with a lint-free cloth.
- Apply a thin layer of suitable thermal paste using a spatula. We recommend Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut.
- Place the SuperSink heat sink in the center using the included PE spacers and avoid moving it sideways if possible.
- Screw the heatsink to the circuit board using the included M3 x 6mm wafer head screws.
Package contents:
- SuperSink heatsink with two GELID 40 mm fans pre-installed
- 4-pin fan splitter, pre-assembled
- Screws for fan mounting
